Hey! Weekend!

Yay!
So, as you maybe can see, I've changed the layout of my blog. I think it looks cool but maybe you don't, so, say something about it.
All that aside, a very boring week is now over. And I'm glad. I mean, not that we didn't do any work. I'm glad that we didn't do anything. Hehe.
So, we have a buttload of English and History HomeWork to do, but oh well. We'll live.
I'm still bored though, so, yeah.

A funny thing happened on the way to school today...

Not really. But I couldn't think of anything else to begin with.
So sue me, I'm not in a creative mood today. Maybe it's because... hmm... about half my friends are on some kinda crazy ass camp. Oh well. I'm not complaining, we've done NO work this week.
I really can't think of anything to say. How sad.
Damn.

Best. Day. EVER.

Well, not really. It could have been better, but it could have been much worse. I got up at around 10, to this news:
"ben, you know that josh rang at about 9, right?"
"no, i've been sleeping"
"oh. well, he did"
"ok, i'll call him in a minute"
So, I got out of bed, rang Josh, realised that it wasn't Josh who rang at 9 in the morning, went and yelled at my brother for not taking the message properly, then played GameCube.
That's pretty much all I did untill 3, when I realised "Oh shit, I have work in an hour, and dad can't drive me."
I started running.
I got there on time, though, so all is good.
We finished on time, for once, and I had a really good talk with one of the managers, Erin. He's a pretty cool guy, actually.
Very cool.
So, I had that talk with him, then got home, got on the internet, talked to Josh and Brooklyn, they signed off, I realised I had homework to do, I did my homework, and here we are.

Myself: Past, Present and Future

11/11/05

Dear great Ben of the future,

I never believed that I’d be writing to you, but here I am, so yeah. This is supposed to be about how I feel now, as a Year 9. Maybe I should begin by talking about my past. Or, maybe not. Right now, I feel as though I’m between two big scenes in my life, you might say. As in, waiting for something to happen to lift the mundane of regular life. We have just been burgled, and that made me feel angrier than I’ve ever been. A lot of my stuff got stolen. My MP3 player, my flute… It isn’t fair. Sam was thinking (and saying) “why us?” and I suppose that’s what I’d be thinking, but, really, it’s just a random setback along the road of life.

I’m listening to a song by Queen right now, and if someone had told me two years ago that I would be doing so, I would have laughed. It just goes to show how much people can change in a short amount of time. For instance, I’m much better friends with Josh and Brooklyn that, two years ago, I never would have dreamed possible. Then again, two years ago, I was young and naïve. Now, I’m just Naïve. So much has happened in recent times to change my perceptions of things, and I have no idea what’s going to happen next in my life. Something new, exciting and interesting could occur tomorrow, although tomorrow is a Saturday, I’d doubt it. Nothing ever happens on Saturday. You wake up, think, “Hey! Weekend!” then roll over and sleep ‘till Sunday.

So that’s Past and Present… covered, lets move onto future. In the future, I would not like to see monkeys rule the world, but if they do, please let them make me their leader. If time machines have been invented whenever I’m reading this, send back mucho money to the 25th of November 2005, at around 12 ‘o clock. That’s a day off, so I can enjoy it. Being serious now, I’d like to get my stuff that was stolen back, and I’d like to get a better computer. Those all seem rather frivolous, but hey, it’s easier than wishing for world peace, and I wouldn’t want to deprive the Miss America contestants of something to wish for. Yeah, that was on topic. I just hope that I can do something with my life. I hope that when I read this, I’ve done something with my life, OR that it’s not too late to change it. I also hope that made sense.

If this letter hasn’t made any sense, oh great and wise Ben of the future, then I direct your attention to the Family Guy movie. It may seem like a frivolous thing, but consider that the main character (a baby) goes into the future and sees how bad his life is. He gets angry with himself. He tries to change his life in the future for the better. And in a way, he succeeds. So, if you feel that you’ve made a mess of your/my life, oh great Ben of the future, then read this letter and do something about it. Good Luck.

Ben

Damn. That took up a lot of space. Oh well.
So, thats my homework. Hope the teacher likes it.

I can see where this is going...

Might as well just concede a few points.
  1. Ok, Nick, you are NOT the same person as Jesse. You just seem to agree on everything, and always take the same side in arguements.
  2. Maybe I am a little harsh to Peter.
  3. There is no way in snot ridden hell that I will forgive him, or go back to being neutral to him. Never. (I'm just that stubborn)
Apart from all of that, however, Nick, you are not without guilt, so STOP FREAKING AVOIDING IT!!!
BAH!!!
...
Yeah...
Moving on...
Today.. was alright, in the grand scheme of things. For one thing, we did NO work. For another thing, I managed to aviod cutting myself (I have 3 cuts on my left hand, and one on my eye, and they all sting like hell). Science, we just watched a Video. Recess... nothing.
Italian, we watched another video, some crappy Michaelangelo thing.
Lunch, we played cricket again, and Jesse hit the ball over the Music building roof, and had to ungracefully climb over a fence to get it (so funny). English, we made cards for our English teacher who got hit by a car. I probably could have said that a little more "sugar-coatedly", but whatever. So, Jesse and I made plans to go to Cydus, I had to wait 20 mins for him to get out of a crappy Bushwhacked meeting, then Nick, Kate, Jesse and I walked down this crappy street, Jesse lost his crappy sleeping mat over some poor persons fence (not poor as in no money, poor as in deserving of sympathy) and had to climb over, breaking the fence =/, then we walked to Grantham street, Jesse and I caught a tram to Cydus, got there, played (I got owned again), left, got home at 6:30, ate dinner, played on the computer, got on the internet, and here I am.
Bah. I wish people would be nicer to others, then I wouldn't need to get angry and kick Jesse's shins in-- uh, get angry.

Well, seeing as how this has turned into a debate of sorts...

Here's my ReBUTTal. *moons Nick*
Yeah.
Oh, Come on! Get over yourself Nick, it isn't just one little thing he said two years ago. The catylist for all this hatred is that one little thing, then two whole years of getting shit from him is what's driving this hatred, this utter loathing.
Moving on.
I wouldn't have a clue what Jesse and Nick tell Gabby, probably something just as evil as they're telling you. It's nice to know that someone cares
I know that other people care too, but meh. At least someone said (and is still saying) something Heheh.
So, on to what happened today.
I woke up at 9:15. I didn't have breakfast. No idea why, so don't ask.
I got on the computer, and started playing Warcraft on the Internet. I got owned both games . I left home at around 11, to go to Cydus with Jesse and Nick. I met up with Jesse at the top of my street, by chance, and we got on the tram together. We arrived at Cydus, played against some total morons for a while, Nick got there at around 12:30, we kept playing with the morons, then Jesse, Nick and I left at 2:30, because I had to go to work. I got to Barkley Square at 3, an hour early. I swore silently, realising that I had an hour to kill before going in. SO, I got myself an ice cream, and wandered around for a while. I finally went into work, worked for 4 and 1/2 hours, got home, had dinner, watched some of CSI (boring as all hell, might I add), got on the internet, and here I am.
So, Nick thinks I should forgive him, does he?
Well, maybe once he and Jesse stop being such total dumbasses towards Kate and Gabby, maybe I might consider forgiving Peter. But, I don't quite see how the two are linked...
Notice, once again, how Nick managed to avoid facing the issue of him being mean to the two of them? I wish I could do that.

Who really gives a rats arse about Bacon anyway?

Ok, so, seeing as how today is a Saturday, and taking into account that I had work today, this is pretty much gonna be a huge gripe, some reminiscence, and shameless self-pity :P
So, I woke up at around 10, 10:30, thought "Yes, no Tae-Kwon-Do." I didn't have Tae-Kwon-Do because I'm 15 now, and I can't go to the juniors anymore. Thats a good thing, I guess, I'd probably end up killing one of them. 'Specially in these crappy Saturday sessions, we're with kids as young as 6. They don't even have to block my kicks, they just go straight over their heads, like so many bad jokes I've made. That said and done, I don't miss it. Half the lession is the leader-teacher-dude shouting "LISTENING IS A POWERFUL TOOL!" and me thinking "Yes. I wish I could listen now that you've deafened my with your incessant yelling!"
So, instead of being yelled at and kicking a foot over some poor 6 year old's head, I got to stay home, and play on the computer.
I left home at about 1:30 to go to work. Looooong story short, we were half an hour late finishing. Short story Long?
I got there to the phrase "Ben, today, instead of asking what needs to be done, you need to tell me what you're going to do. OK?" "Yes Alice." "Good"
"Alice, I'm sweeping the shop." "Good."
That aside, nothing of real value happened. I cut my middle finger of my left hand open in two places (nothing serious, just stings like hell)(so does my eye =/), got yelled at countless times for not going to customers quickly enough, and wasted my 10 minute break on an ice cream. I got home at around 8:00, watched the end of Big Fat Liar, then got on the internet, and here I am.
So thats my day, with the "reminiscence" part of this done.
A couple days ago, Nick and Jesse were being really tight-assed to Kate and Gabby, and I spoke to Nick about it. I can't actually remember what happened, but it was something like this
"Hey Nick, why are you being such a tightass to Kate and Gabby?" (Me)
"Because they're mean." (Nick)
"Thats no cause for you to be mean to them..."
"You can't talk."
"Why's that?"
"You're a tightass to Peter."
"No, he's a tightass to me."
"Why don't you just forgive him?"
"Uh..."
"You two were such good friends. Don't you want to go back to that?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"He's mean to me."
"He told me that he's only mean to you in direct responce to you being meant to him."
"He's a liar then."
"I doubt it."
And so on...
This really made me think about some things. Such as, why did Nick change my inquisition so fast back on to me? Why is he so mean to them? Am I too mean to Peter? Will I miss him when he leaves next year? Should I apologise?
Just something that's been puzzling me for many a year. I need some help.

My Triumvirate Of Terror

“Crazy rural High school kids pawned The Amazing MonkeyMan’s morning for an extra boring day!”

“Some random Burglar guy just pawned The Amazing MonkeyMan’s Flute for an extra 600 Gold!”

“Some random Burglar guy just pawned The Amazing MonkeyMan’s DS and games for an extra 550 Gold!”

DOUBLE STEAL!!

“Some random Burglar guy just pawned The Amazing MonkeyMan’s MP3 Player for an extra 100 gold!”

TRIPLE STEAL!!!

Some random Burglar guy is on a Crime Spree!

“Blaine’s chin just pawned The Amazing MonkeyMan’s eye for an extra 5 stitches!

Everyone but The Amazing MonkeyMan is OWNING!!!

If you don’t get that, I paraphrased Warcraft 3 to explain my current situation. But I’ll get to that soon. First I need to describe Wednesday.

I woke up to Dad saying “Ben, mum and I can’t take you to school this morning, so you’ll have to get yourself there.” The time was 7:00. Band starts at 8:00.

Thanks Dad, for telling me so early. I had 15 minutes to get ready. Man, that was a rush.

I got to school, walked into the Drama (sorry, Performing Arts) room, and found a gaggle of Students from some crazy rural school in various stages of awakeness. I realised that today, a bunch of kids had used our Performing Arts room as a dormitory, so, I had to wait about half an hour for Band to start. Bah.

We began classes with History, and I sat there watching my friends and classmates making presentations about the Holocaust, while simultaneously dreading my own presentation. Next was a complete waste of a period, AKA Maths.

Recess, nothing of Importance happened.

In 3&4 we had History again, and I had to present my crappy presentation, then immediately after, Josh presented his. I could see the teacher still making marks on my sheet as Josh presented.

At lunch, again, nothing happened.

Period 5 was Italian. We were in the computer room. Nothing. I just sat there listening to people talk, while looking at a computer screen (I had no internet money L)

In period 6, I had a music lesson. Really, all that happened was us going over and over again on a boring piece. Blah.

I walked over to Jewell station with Josh and Brooklyn after school. Actually, I sprinted down Dawson street, and through a carpark to spend about 5 minutes with them, before sprinting back up Union street to go to Cydus with Jesse. I didn’t do too well.

That night, I had Scouts, boring, then I got on the internet, and did nothing.

So, there’s 300 or so words about Wednesday, the only quasi-normal day in this triumvirate of terror.

On Thursday, I woke up (etc), and went to school. I had IT first. It sucked. We did nothing. At all. Then I had… Graphics. The bane of all sane people in this world. I have no idea why I was even in that class. I didn’t choose it. No one in that class did. Maybe we were all being punished for something. I don’t recall doing anything wrong…

In period 3&4, we were supposed to have English, but instead, we watched the Year 11 theatre studies class perform a theatrical adaptation of Agatha Christies’ “The Mousetrap.” It was amazing. Incredible, it really was. Hannah Dennison was so good in her role, as was (unfortunately, I don’t know the names of any of the other actors, save Jesse Marshall, who was also good) the student who played Perr…rr…edgini. Hehe.

In 5&6 we had P.E. We did Table Tennis and Weights training. The Weights training was alright, but the Table Tennis was basically just me at the bottom of a stairwell, trying to hit balls up the stairs, and having them (and bats) thrown down at me. L.

So, after school, I walked over to Jewell with Josh again, walked back to Grantham street, and caught the tram home. It was there that I heard the news that made this week crap.

(Suspenseful drum roll)

We had been burgled during the day. Dad’s laptop, $1800 of fundraising money for the Scout group, my flute, my MP3 player, My Nintendo DS, mum’s rings, my brother’s wallet, and assorted other crap was stolen. The question Sam (my brother) was asking was “Why? Why us?” The question I was asking was “Why? Why not our crappy DVD player?”

All that aside, I didn’t go help out with the younger scouts. I probably should have, in retrospect. They really make your problems seem insignificant. Oh well. I went to Tae Kwon Do, and I got out all my aggression. I went to sleep exhausted, but slightly happier than at about 4:00 Pm (when I got home from school).

Which brings me to today. (My retinue from day to day never changes, so, lets just say I left for school) I left for school. When I got there, I went and talked to Josh, who, as usual, was playing cards. He was very sympathetic. I then went and found Gabby and Blaine, who proceeded to ask me “How was your…last night?”

‘How to react?’ I wondered…

“Oh, pretty crap…” I said

“Oh no, why?” said they…

“Well…we got burgled yesterday”

*faces of shock horror*

“yeah”

So, today wasn’t all that fun. Try explaining to your music teacher why you don’t have your flute with you. It’s not fun, let me tell you.

We had double history (crap), Recess (we played a sort of cricket with out hands and a plastic wristband), , double graphics (crap), Lunch (we played cricket again, this time with a tennis ball. Kate got hit on the head, and while Blaine and I were batting, We ran into each other. I managed to split my eye open (not too serious) and graze Blaine’s chin), and double maths (crap). I went to Cydus with Josh and Jesse again, and, again, I didn’t do too well. Oh well.

I got home at about 7:00, realised that we were having a party, experienced an “ohnosecond” when I saw how many people were looking at this poor boy, walking in 3 hours late from school, with angry parents to face.

Which brings me to now, sitting here at the (thankfully still there) computer listening to Weird Al Yankovic bleat out some music, and nursing my poor, bust up eye.

Great. And I have work tomorrow. Won’t this be fun to explain?

Ben

P.S This turned out to be about 1084 words long. Pretty Damn good, huh?
